Museum harbor Mildenberg
Berlin is built out of the boat: the expansion of the Havel waterway in the previous century provided optimum transport conditions for the Zehdenicker Ziegeleien. Each brickworks had at least one plant or a sheet pile wall on the Havel. For more than a century nearly all the brick production was sent by ship. That is why the famous saying “Berlin is built out of the boat”. An original Finow-Maßkahn is now part of the Industrie- und Technikmuseum. The museum boat “Carola” from Zehdenick is a popular guest in Mildenberg during the “Märkische Dampfspektakels” and “Faszination Technik”. Read more…
Müritzeum – The Natural Experience Center
As a natural experience center with Germany’s largest fresh water aquarium for domestic fish, the Müritzeum in Waren (Müritz) belongs to one of the leading adventure worlds of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The beauties and peculiarities of the Mecklenburg Lake District and the Müritz National Park, with its water worlds, animals and plants, can be experienced in multimedial and interactive exhibition spaces. Playful and entertaining but at the same time informative and educational is a visit for young and old in the house of the 1,000 lakes at any time of the year. Castle Rheinsberg
Like no other castle, Rheinsberg impresses with its picturesque location at Grienericksee. Here, nature, architecture and art combine to form a harmonious ensemble. Numerous works of art decorate the premises of the castle and invite you to a journey into the eighteenth century. Through extensive restoration work, the original room decorations from the Frederician period (c. 1740) as well as the early classics created by Prince Heinrich (c. 1786) have been achieved in recent years. Castle Schwerin
Schwerin Castle is located on the Schlossinsel in the center of Schwerin. Today it is the seat of the Landtag of the north German state Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. For many centuries it was the residence of the Mecklenburg dukes and grand dukes. It is the most famous and magnificent of more than two thousand castles and mansions in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The castle is a historically grown building in a thousand-year process. Its ring-shaped shape dates back to a fortress of a Slavic castle built around 965 on a small island near Lake Schwerin. The transformation phases of this building complex through the centuries are comprehensively documented from about 1500 by a wealth of written and pictorial evidence. Read more…
