Brandenburg Water Paradise<\/strong>
\nOver the gently flowing upper Havel the route leads through a part of the idyllic Uckermark lakes and the Rheinsberg chain of lakes. That patch impresses with an untouched natural landscape which partly resembles Canada and Scandinavia. Also for shore leave this area has quite some offerings. The lovable adjacent towns Rheinsberg, F\u00fcrstenberg, Lychen and Templin\u00a0provide beautiful historic urban cores for water-farers, such as the Wild West town “El Dorado” in Templin.<\/p>\n

Depending on the traffic situation on the Havel, it takes around 5 hours for the route from Mildenberg to Himmelpfort at lake Stolpsee, including the 4 locks to be passed. At the Regow lock you can provide yourselves with regional products of the goat cheese factory. http:\/\/capriolenhof.de\/<\/a><\/p>\n

In case of wind we recommend to come to a landing pier near the watergate. The boat house of Himmelpfort is also very convenient. Located right beside it is the “Fischer” with fresh offerings from river and sea. http:\/\/www.stolpseefischer.de\/<\/a><\/p>\n

In the small, idyllic place Himmelpfort you can visit the ruins of the former Cistercian monastery with cloister garden and herbary. Also Santa Claus’ post office is located in Himmelpfort. http:\/\/www.himmelpfort.de<\/a><\/p>\n

About an hour’s trip away lies the town F\u00fcrstenberg. http:\/\/www.fuerstenberghavel.de\/<\/a><\/p>\n

For the second day we recommend the stretch to the harbour village Rheinsberg. The stretch from F\u00fcrstenberg to Rheinsberg takes around 4-5 hours, incl. 3 locks to be passed. Rheinsberg shines with its well-known castle and the beautifully arranged park, the Tucholsky museum, the ceramic museum and many other things worth seeing. In summer, the Chamber Opera at Castle Rheinsberg is performing. After an extensive stroll, Caf\u00e9s and Restaurants in the lovely streets, alleys and places invite you for a refreshment. Experience not only this wonderful town but also enjoy the breathtaking landscape of the nature park of Stechlin-Ruppiner Land! http:\/\/www.rheinsberg.de\/<\/a><\/p>\n

On the third day the return voyage begins. Take a detour across the feeder river Woblitz to lake Gro\u00dfer Lychensee. This picturesque reach of the river leads through forests with beeches and alders.

The return voyage could alternatively go from Rheinsberg directly towards Mildenberg. Behind the Schorfheide lock you go on in the direction of Templin. A stop at the city port of Templin is recommended. This attractive town is encircled by an almost intact town wall. The many small shops, pubs and restaurants in the inner city invite you to stroll around and to pause. http:\/\/www.templin.de\/<\/a><\/p>\n

In case of bad weather, which we hope will not occur, a visit at the “Naturtherme” (natural thermal bath) seems the thing to do. http:\/\/www.naturthermetemplin.de\/<\/a><\/p>\n

The trip from Templin to Mildenberg takes about 4-5 hours. If there is enough time you could drop anchor at the idyllic forest lake “Grosser Kuhwallsee”. From there, Mildenberg is reached in about 1.5 hours.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
